Brown Bear Hunting
Brown Bear Hunting trips on Kodiak, Alaska take place in the spring and in the fall. All hunts are fully guided, one on one, and trips average 10 to 12 days in length. During the spring hunts (April to mid-May), Kodiak Brown Bears are emerging from hibernation and their hides are in prime condition. Weather is unpredictable, with temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. It is common to spot and stalk a Kodiak Brown Bear above the snow level, which can start at 1,000 feet.
The fall Bear Hunting trips (Oct 25 – Nov 30) find cooler weather, 15 degrees to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, and most Brown Bears have returned to higher elevation after spending the summer months feeding along salmon streams.
